Recent Legislation (2009 Regular Session)
The following three bills were introduced and passed during the 2009 Regular Legislative Session in Montana.
Mortgage Broker and Mortgage Lender: The Montana Mortgage Broker and Loan Orginator Licensing Act was revised by Senate Bill 351 (SB 351) during the 2009 regular legislative session. SB 351 has created the Montana Mortgage Broker, Mortgage Lender and Mortgage Loan Originator Licensing Act (Act). Amendments to the Act Effective Date: July 1, 2009. The transition to the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS ) will not occur until 2010.
Deferred Deposit Loan: The Montana Deferred Deposit Loan Act (Act) was revised by Senate Bill 54 (SB 54) during the 2009 regular legislative session. Governor Brian Schweitzer signed this bill into law on March 8, 2009. Amendments to the Act Effective Date: October 1, 2009.
Title Loan: The Montana Title Loan Act (Act) was revised by Senate Bill 47 (SB 47) during the 2009 regular legislative session. Governor Brian Schweitzer signed this bill into law on April 1, 2009. Amendments to the Act Effective Date: October 1, 2009.
