Recent Legislation (2011 Regular Session)
The following two bills were introduced by the Division and passed during the 2011 Regular Legislative Session in Montana.
Mortgage Broker, Mortgage Lender, Mortgage Servicer and Mortgage Loan Originator: The Montana Mortgage Act was revised by House Bill 90 (HB 90) during the 2011 regular legislative session. Governor Brian Schweitzer signed this bill into law on May 5, 2011. HB 90 is effective on October 1, 2011. Mortgage loan servicers are required to be licensed by October 1, 2011.
Bank: The Montana Bank Act (Act) was revised by Senate Bill 64 (SB 64) during the 2011 regular legislative session. Governor Brian Schweitzer signed this bill into law on March 24, 2011. SB 64 is effective on October 1, 2011.
